Dpkg

Short for Debian Package Manager, Dpkg is an installation and packaging tool used with Debian and some other Linux variants to install Internet downloads. Dpkg uses the .DEB file extension when creating a package. For users familiar with other variants of Linux or who've used RPM to install packages onto their computer this tool is similar to that.
